Ron Paul caught in lie

I am finding myself really torn as to what to do if John McCain secures the Republican nomination for president. I don't know if I can vote for him. From the very beginning on this campaign, I have been a Huckabee supporter. When I first started to research the candidates, I liked him, and this was well before he became popular. I never thought he would make it as far as he has. I don't agree with him on every single thing, but I think he was definitely the best of the last 4 Rep. candidates.

However, not thinking he will receive the nomination, I began looking at Ron Paul. I have heard such differing things about him and decided to find out for myself. I know he says he doesn't plan to, but I really think he will run as an independent if he doesn't get the Rep nomination. I do agree with him in many areas, but in researching him, I found this lie. He says, on his campaign website, "[After we pulled out of Vietnam], instead of Vietnam becoming Communist, they became westernized." Here is the link: (it's toward the end of the video) http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/war-and-foreign-policy

Vietnam is in fact a communist nation. Here are some links to that proof & there are many more:

What a crazy thing to say. And it's so obviously wrong and easy to disproove, I was quite shocked.

I'll let you know what else I find out.

Hi Dee,
Thanks for the comment you left on my husband's blog with the exercise tip. I will remember that with my next pregnancy. It was a little scary and frustrating for me when I was pregnant and most medical professionals didn't seem to have a clue about my problem.... But I know I was not alone because my husband gets hits on his blog post about it every single day. :0)

About Ron Paul...
You are right, that is a little shocking that he said something that is so easily disproven.
I actually agree with Ron Paul on so many things. I'd love to see many government departments and unworthy programs cut. However I don't think being neutral and avoiding the rest of the planet is good either. Our enemies aren't going to ignore us and we sometimes need to get involved to spread democracy around the globe.

America has blessed the whole planet. We began by securing our own free republic. Then we helped numerous other nations to become free.
